The Motorola Q smartphone equipped with CoPilot Live is designed to provide drivers with powerful, portable GPS navigation, complete with turn-by-turn voice guidance, comprehensive address entry choice, ZIP Code and point-of-interest search, detailed street maps and a user interface designed to take advantage of the Q’s landscape screen and Qwerty keyboard.

“The Motorola Q is an amazing device that is certain to attract both consumers and business interest, especially when bundled with CoPilot Live GPS Navigation,” says Dan Titus, senior vice president of mobility solutions at Princeton, N.J.-based ALK Technologies. “Mobile GPS Navigation is a perfect way to address consumer and business needs for mobility, performance, productivity, ease of use and efficiency.”

Rapid route calculation speeds enable even complex trips across the country to be worked out in seconds, ALK says, and when combined with the company’s CoPilot Software Development Kit, CoPilot GPS route guidance and navigation can be integrated seamlessly with dispatch and mobile work force management mobility solutions, eliminating the need to manually enter addresses. CoPilot Live 6|Q Edition is one of several certified solutions that are available as accessories to the Motorola Q. CoPilot Live has been optimized to run on Intel X-scale processors, and is certified as a Microsoft Designed for Windows Mobile 5.0 solution.

“Optimized for Intel XScale technology, CoPilot Live 6 delivers the performance and advanced features of a dedicated satellite navigation system into an advanced smartphone platform.” says Gary Forni, director of handheld platform software enabling for Intel Mobility Group. “With the Intel XScale processor-based Motorola Q Smartphone from Verizon Wireless, mobile professionals will be able to enjoy mapping and routing technology while on the road.”
