Professional drivers who spend time behind the wheel “watchin’ out” for road hazards and traffic jams now have someone helping them watch their diet when they sit down for a meal on the road. TravelCenters of America has introduced the Watchin’ Out Menu to steer customers to healthy menu selections in restaurants at TA locations throughout North America.

“This is another instance of listening to our customers and providing additional services and amenities that make their visit to a TA travel center even more pleasurable,” says Paul Huckelberry, vice president of restaurants for Westlake, Ohio-based TA. “Many drivers have told us they need guidance in identifying menu items that meet specific needs of their diet, so with the help of a dietician we have identified selections that are not only healthy but very appealing.”

Menu choices are highlighted to help drivers watch their calories, cholesterol, sodium and fat. “Watching your diet can be very challenging on the road,” says Huckelberry. “We’re happy to make it a little easier for the drivers we serve.”
