Networkcar, specializing in remotely monitoring vehicle location and diagnostics, announced it has been named a finalist in two categories for the 2006 American Business Awards. Winners will be announced Monday, June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

Networkcar was selected in the Most Innovative Company category for enhancements to its Networkfleet wireless vehicle management system. It also was selected for the Best Product Development Team category for its software engineering team’s ability to quickly deliver new customer functionality.

Networkfleet is a wireless vehicle management system that fleet managers use to access up-to-the-minute productivity and efficiency information on virtually every aspect of their fleet operations via the Internet. Networkfleet’s in-vehicle device is designed to collect and wirelessly transmit detailed metrics directly from a vehicle’s engine computer and from a global positioning system. Fleet managers can log on and view specific vehicle data such as current location, fuel consumption, mileage, speed and idle time, 24/7, through a secure Web application.

“Networkcar continues to be recognized for innovation due to the creativity and hard work of the product development team and their responsiveness to customers needs,” says Paul Washicko, president of San Diego-based Networkcar. “We are proud to be recognized for our efforts to develop leading-edge vehicle management solutions that are both cost-effective and comprehensive.”
