Old Dominion Freight Line has been named to BusinessWeek‘s list of the 100 fastest-growing small companies, in the issue currently on newsstands.

The Thomasville, N.C.-based trucking company, which ranked No. 99 on BusinessWeek‘s list, saw profits rise 38.2 percent to $53.9 million during 2005. The company also topped $1 billion in revenue for the first time during 2005.

To help the growth continue, Old Dominion bought Utah-based UW Freight Line earlier this year, which added 16 service centers to the company’s network. The company has plans to add as many as 22 service centers to its existing 170 by the end of the year.
