Michelin Americas Truck Tires and Petro:Lube have signed a three-year agreement by which Petro:Lube will sell BFGoodrich commercial truck tires and Michelin Retread Technologies retreads, in addition to the Michelin tires already offered by Petro:Lube service centers throughout the United States.

“We are excited to begin this new three-year agreement with a strategic travel plaza partner like Petro,” says Guy Pekle, vice president of sales for Greenville, S.C.-based Michelin Americas Truck Tires. “Michelin and Petro have established a reputation for providing quality, innovative products and excellent customer service with Michelin tires. We are pleased to expand the product offering at Petro to include BFGoodrich tires and MRT retreads.”

Petro:Lube currently sells Michelin tires at 60 service centers, and quickly is adding BFGoodrich tires and MRT retreads on a store-by-store basis. Petro:Lube expects to have 65 locations selling these tires and retreads by the end of 2006, with plans to open about five new locations per year.

“Petro is committed to meeting the needs of national accounts and owner-operators with a full line of Michelin and BFGoodrich commercial truck tires, including Michelin X-One wide single tires and wheels at all locations,” says Dave Latimer, vice president for El Paso, Texas-based Petro:Lube. “Adding Michelin MRT retreads completes the product offering and aligns Petro with the most respected brand names in the truck tire industry. This three-year agreement with Michelin helps us differentiate our business from other travel plazas, and supports our long-term growth strategy.”
