GE Commercial Finance Fleet Services has announced that Luis Carmona has been awarded the World-Class Technician Award from the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association. Carmona, a technical adviser on GE’s maintenance and safety solutions team, earned the award by successfully completing the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence certification in 22 ASE specialties — eight automobile, eight medium/heavy truck, four collision repair and refinish, and the two advanced levels, L1 and L2. Since the award was established in the 1980s, fewer than 1,800 technicians have received the elite designation of world-class technician.

“We are very proud of Luis and his world-class technician recognition,” says Dan Kratz, manager of maintenance and safety solutions for Eden Prairie, Minn.-based GE Fleet Services. “Our customers want knowledgeable technical advisers who can help them with their maintenance needs to ensure the right repairs are done at the best price. This award validates our commitment to providing our customers with best-in-class maintenance advisers who have the technical expertise, training and industry experience to provide our customers with the highest level of customer service to meet their needs.”

The Automobile Aftermarket Industry Association formerly served the industry as the Automobile Service Industry Association and the Automotive Parts and Accessories Association. AAIA’s member companies manufacture, sell and distribute motor vehicle parts, accessories, tools, equipment, materials and supplies. The AAIA World-Class Technician Award requires multiple certifications.
