Leader Transport & Logistics, a Rutherforton, N.C.-based transportation company; and Carolina Cargo, a Rock Hill, S.C.-based provider of long-haul refrigerated transportation services, both have selected the CarrierWeb for Trucks system as their truck communications and management platform. CarrierWeb for Trucks is designed to provide customers with minute-by-minute information on driver activities, trailer utilization, fuel usage, detention times, safety status and maintenance conditions.

“CarrierWeb is very pleased about adding Leader Transport and Carolina Cargo to our family of customers,” says John Marous, president of Atlanta-based CarrierWeb. “We will work hard to provide them with everything they need for a long and successful relationship.”

Leader Transport provides logistics services, long-haul refrigerated and dry van transportation services throughout the United States. “Motor carriers such as Leader Transport have unique challenges and opportunities, particularly when customers need to know where their freight is around the clock,” says Steven Humphries, Leader Transport president.

“We believe that CarrierWeb, with an always-on real-time connection, will help us close the loop on many of these challenges that we are faced with today,” Humphries says. “Leader Transport has a full commitment to safety, and safety influences every aspect of our business. We looked at several solutions, but we knew with CarrierWeb we would be investing in a proven solution. CarrierWeb understands our business and will work closely to ensure our continued success.”

CarrierWeb says it offers a full-featured communications system that allows drivers and dispatchers to communicate in real time with always-on connectivity via CarrierWeb’s Fleet Area Network. Available features include hours of service, integration into legacy systems, driver performance reporting, messaging, tracking, navigation, truck-trailer hitching events, geo-landmark events, trailer tracking with door events and temperature monitoring, and yard/terminal monitoring.

Information to advance your business from industry suppliers

“We took an extensive look at our needs in regards to truck management and communications and felt we needed a partner who has the knowledge to take us to the next level,” says Jim Crowder, Carolina Cargo president and owner. “After researching the available providers, we felt CarrierWeb was the only choice as a partner. CarrierWeb’s always-on connectivity to each of my trucks has provided me, in real time, the information I need while also keeping my communications economical. By having instant access to what the truck is doing, I have already realized increased fuel economy.

“When comparing CarrierWeb to other providers, I was very impressed with the messaging response which takes seconds rather than minutes, and the ease of use for our drivers and dispatchers, which meant less time training,” Crowder says. “The many features available on the CarrierWeb system allow me to see my fleet and respond instantly to changes in my business. I have reduced out-of route miles, increased productivity and increased fuel economy.”
