ATRI appoints three new board members

The American Transportation Research Institute, the trucking industry’s not-for-profit research organization, has appointed three new members to its board of directors. The new directors are:

  • Chris Lofgren, president and chief executive officer, Schneider National;
  • Tim Solso, chairman and CEO, Cummins; and
  • Steve Williams, chairman and CEO, Maverick Transportation.
  • “The ATRI board has long benefited from the involvement of top industry leaders,” said ATRI Chairman Doug Duncan, president and CEO of FedEx Freight, in announcing the appointments. “These appointments round out an already strong board, bringing immeasurable experience at the helm of their respective companies.”

    ATRI is engaged in critical research relating to freight transportation’s essential role in maintaining a safe, secure and efficient transportation system. ATRI’s research is focused in five areas: safety and human factors; technology and innovation; environmental factors; transportation security; and economic analysis.
