ArvinMeritor has announced that it has signed an exclusive distribution agreement, effective immediately, with FrasLe to supply customers in Mexico with FrasLe-branded aftermarket brake lining for heavy-duty trucks, trailers and buses.

“Expanding our friction offerings in Mexico is another sign of our global market leadership and focusing on what our customers need and deserve — quality, long-lasting brake materials,” says Rick Kempski, director of business development for Troy, Mich.-based ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket division.

Initially, three FrasLe friction mixes will be offered in 18 variations, resulting in about 100 new part numbers. Fleet customers will be able to purchase bulk-loose friction materials or riveted-on shoes with full brake kit hardware from their authorized ArvinMeritor distributor. The friction material complements the existing Meritor MA friction lining offering.

ArvinMeritor began offering FrasLe friction materials in the United States and Canada in 1995. FrasLe is based in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, and maintains sales offices in Farmington Hills, Mich.
