The Tire Retread Information Bureau will be holding its tire-thumping contest at the 2006 Great American Trucking Show, being held at the Dallas Convention Center on Thursday, Aug. 24, through Saturday, Aug. 26. The contest is co-sponsored by TRIB member Arvin Meritor.
“Based on the success of our tire-thumping contest at recent trucking shows, and by popular demand, we will be challenging truckers to try their luck in telling how much air pressure a tire holds by thumping instead of using a tire gauge,” says Harvey Brodsky, TRIB managing director. “The inflated tire will be in TRIB booth number 22087-9, and all truckers are invited to participate. Anyone who comes within 5 percent of the actual air pressure in the tire will come away with a prize furnished by Arvin Meritor. There also will be a grand prize for any trucker who hits the correct air pressure right on the money.”
