F.T. Silfies, a mid-Atlantic regional dry bulk carrier, has promoted Stephen “Butch” Wolf to director of maintenance. “Butch is an icon in the dry bulk industry and has over 35 years experience in maintaining a fleet of aggregate dry bulk-hauling equipment, and he has forgotten more about this business than most will ever learn,” says Randy K. Sheeler, president and chief executive officer of Nazareth, Pa.-based Silfies.
“Butch has been an integral part of our growth and success and has led the charge in evaluating the equipment on all acquisitions,” Sheeler says. “If we like a company and Butch doesn’t think the equipment can be brought to Silfies standards for a reasonable price, we walk from the perspective deal. I’m glad Butch is here at Silfies, and we’ll continue to challenge him as we grow.”
