Mitchell 1 — a provider of technical information for vehicle maintenance, service and repair — has announced that technicians competing in TMCSuperTech2006, the trucking industry’s National Technician Skills Competition, will be utilizing the company’s Tractor-Trailer.net at the Service Information station, one of 10 Skills Challenge stations covering a variety of diagnostic skills areas.

The Service Information Station is used to demonstrate the technicians’ ability to retrieve service information from currently accepted industry sources. Tractor-Trailer.net is a Web-based service and repair information source for all heavy-duty tractors, dry vans and reefers dating back to 1990.

Led by the Technology & Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations and organized by TMC’s Professional Technician Development Committee, TMCSuperTech2006 is TMC’s second annual National Technician Skills Competition designed to determine the industry’s top technician through a variety of troubleshooting tests over a two-day event. The competition will be held in Austin, Texas, on Sept. 18-20. Mitchell 1, based in San Diego, will donate a year’s subscription to its Tractor-Trailer.net online service to the event’s overall Grand Champion.
