As the trucking industry moves closer to the switchover to more expensive engines early next year due to the Environmental Protection Agency’s emissions rules, fleet operators are beginning to look at preowned trucks with 2006 engines. Production slots for new trucks with today’s engines are virtually gone, but dealers say that the used truck inventory has held steady and that there are good deals still to be had.
