BestBid Shipping, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based freight brokerage company, has introduced a website that uses the reverse-auction bidding process to match full truckload and less-than-truckload shipments with carriers.
On the site, www.bestbidshipping.com, businesses can sign up as members and post the load details of various shipments, including pick-up and delivery ZIP codes, total weight, freight type and estimated budget.
Registered transport companies can view and bid on the loads. The system also allows the shipper to communicate with potential transport companies regarding the load details and specifications via an online message board.
