Phillips Industries announced that it recently acquired its ISO 9001:2000 certification. The Santa Fe Springs, Calif.-based company says it made the transition from the QS9000 system to the ISO certification in order to continue to meet transportation industry quality standards once the QS9000 system becomes obsolete in December 2006.

Gary Hubbard, Phillips quality manager, sees the attainment of the new certification as evidence of Phillips’ strong commitment to quality. “The ISO 9001:2000 standard is a process-based quality system with meaningful customer focus,” Hubbard says. “And because objective evidence must be measured and reviewed quarterly with audits being performed at least annually, our customers can be assured of the high quality of our products.”
