Ryder System has appointed Airton Gimenes as senior vice president of sales and marketing for supply chain solutions, responsible for all sales and marketing activities of Ryder’s global supply chain business, supporting the U.S. and international operations teams. Gimenes joins Ryder following a 30-year career with Hewlett-Packard, where his most recent position was senior vice president of HP’s customer solutions group for the company’s worldwide enterprise segment.
In that role, Gimenes was responsible for more than 14,000 accounts — including HP’s largest 100 global accounts, with revenue of about $30 billion — and a worldwide staff of account managers and industry consulting experts. He started working for HP in 1975 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. During his years at HP, he held roles of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing, finance and administration, operations, general management, customer services and solutions while serving at the national, regional and worldwide levels.
