XRG Inc., a provider of truckload services throughout North America, has announced the signing of Local Logistics as a new agent terminal in the New York metropolitan area. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
“Local Logistics has been in the New York metro area for many years and adds an important presence in our country’s largest market to the XRG agent network,” says Eddie R. Brown, chief executive officer of Chattanooga, Tenn.-based XRG. “Local Logistics President Michael Kiviat and his team have built a company with strong growth, and we are confident this will contribute to XRG’s own continued growth and success. This transaction is an important step in furthering the non-asset based growth strategy of XRG.”
Local Logistics, based in Hicksville, N.Y., had revenues of $3.3 million in 2005, and is currently at a running rate of $5.0 million. “We are proud to be a part of the XRG family,” Kiviat says. “his association will give us the additional tools we need to continue our strategic plan for our trucking operation.”
