Edward J. Corbally, a senior safety veteran of the transportation industry, has been named director of risk and safety services at CEI and TruckGuardian Group, both part of The CEI Group Inc., an integrated enterprise of vehicle risk management services to auto and truck fleets, as well as the property and casualty industry.

Corbally will oversee the company’s suite of safety and risk services, including Web-based risk management, online and behind-the-wheel safety training with records management, motor vehicle record authorization and on-demand ordering. He also will be responsible for directing the development of new products to expand the safety offering to CEI and TruckGuardian Group customers.

Corbally comes to CEI and TruckGuardian Group from Ryder System, where he spent 11 years at the company’s Philadelphia regional headquarters, the last three as senior manager of safety, health and security. His prior experience also includes seven years with FedEx in Newark, N.J., where he was the firm’s regional safety manager; and five years as a regional safety manager for Continental and People Express airlines.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Ed to the team,” says Wayne Smolda, founder and chief executive officer for The CEI Group, based in Trevose, Pa. “He brings more than 20 years of experience in transportation safety, along with an insider’s knowledge of the trucking industry, a major growth area targeted under our TruckGuardian Group brand.”
