The American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists has announced its latest technician training clinic, “Recreational Vehicle Steering and Handling Enhancements,” to be held in Elk River, Minn., on March 28 and 29. The clinic is being hosted by Dick and Nancy Lorntson, with the assistance of technicians of Precision Frame and Alignment.

The first day of the two-day program will feature a general outline of the clinic, followed by speakers from Freightliner, Ford and Workhorse who will discuss their products and suspensions. Also planned are demonstrations and instructions about the enhancement products that are available, including Koni, Billstein, SuperSteer, Davis TruTrac, Roadmaster and Safe-T-Plus. Other products will be added.

The remainder of the sessions will involve the proper application, installation and testing of the enhancement products. Every technician will have a hands-on experience diagnosing handling or steering problems, selecting the proper product, installing the product on the motor home or travel trailer, and testing for improvement. Also included is a trip to Flier Coach Builders for a tour of the manufacturing plant and dinner.

ACOFAS is offering this training to all technicians and members of SSA, THECC and HDDA. The cost of the clinic is $150 for ACOFAS members and their employees; $200 for SSA, THECC and HDDA members and their employees; and all others are $300. Space is limited to 36 technicians.

All participants will receive access to the ACOFAS forum after completing the course. This forum makes all the latest technology available to the technician and also keeps an ongoing dialogue between the participants of this and past training clinics regarding problems and experiences. The forum can be accessed at www.acofas.com; however, only members and clinic participants can access the closed forum that gives technical information and help with problems.
