Stallion Oilfield Services announced Monday, Dec. 18, that it has completed its acquisition of Norton Transport, located in Palestine, Texas. Stallion says Norton specializes in heavy hauling for the oilfield industry and expands the capabilities of Stallion’s rig logistics division into the Barnett Shale area of the Fort Worth Basin, and strengthens its existing services in the East Texas area.

Stallion provides wellsite support services and construction and logistics services to oilfields, with more than 1,500 employees in 32 locations. “Norton adds almost 100 employees and over 50 trucks to our existing fleet,” says Craig Johnson, chief executive officer of Houston-based Stallion. Norton executive Chris Ingram will remain as operations manager of the company, which will operate as Stallion Heavy Haulers, Johnson says.

“This acquisition continues our strategy to provide our customers with all of the products and services they need before, during and after drilling operations,” Johnson says. “The Fort Worth Barnett Shale area is one of the most active areas in the United States today, and our customers appreciate the convenience of placing one call for all of their wellsite services.”
