Big trucks drive out hunger

user-gravatar Headshot

A Freightliner M2 and two Sterling Acterra trucks with 18-foot-refrigerated van bodies have been donated to the non-profit food bank Forgotten Harvest by Freightliner and by DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Americas.

Forgotten Harvest, which serves the Detroit area, currently maintains a fleet of 17 trucks, four of which were donated by DaimlerChrysler Financial. The company donated its first truck to Forgotten Harvest in September 2005 in support of Hurricane Katrina victims who had moved to southeast Michigan.

In making the donation, DaimlerChrysler Financial was aided by DaimlerChrysler Truck Financial and by Wolverine Eastside, a Freightliner dealership in Mount Clemens, Mich.
