Clinton Eshleman, a professional driver for Roadway, has logged 4 million miles — roughly the equivalent of circling the Earth’s equator 160 times — without a preventable accident. Eshleman, 64, has been with Roadway for 37 years; he has worked at the service center in Tannersville, Pa., for 33 years and is based there as an over-the-road driver. Eshleman is a member of Local No. 229 of The International Brotherhood of Teamsters in Scranton.

“We are all proud of Clinton’s outstanding achievement,” says Terry Gilbert, president of Roadway. “He exemplifies the engagement and pride essential to make our highways safe while meeting our customers’ needs for efficient and reliable transportation services. He is truly a leader in the industry.”

Roadway employees, family and friends will honor Eshleman for his achievement at a safety breakfast Feb. 15 at the Tannersville service center. “Clinton’s commitment to safety is evident by this great accomplishment,” says Tom Smedley, regional service center manager for Roadway in Tannersville. “He embraces our priority of safety, going the extra mile to assure his safety and that of others on the road every day. We congratulate Clinton and look forward to his continued leadership in safety.”
