Ruan recently announced the addition of Michael Preston as terminal manager for its customer facility in Yuma, Ariz. Preston will manage route optimization for more than 20 drivers in Arizona and California that serve a Ruan dedicated contract carriage customer.
“Michael has the background and ability to create specialized solutions that ensure efficiency in time, cost and safety,” says Wayne Ashley, vice president and region manager of Des Moines, Iowa-based Ruan. “He will be an on-site advocate for our customer, increasing efficiency in their supply chain.”
Preston has more than 25 years experience in the transportation industry. For the past four years, Preston had been based in Memphis, Tenn., working as the regional transportation manager for Family Dollar Inc. He managed 125 drivers who delivered to more than 800 stores in the mid-southern region. Preston also has held logistics positions at Roadway, Diamond-Star Motors and Chemical Leaman Tank Lines.
