To better match the varying requirements of today’s haulers, Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems has introduced Tiremaax CP (Constant Pressure), a new configuration of its automatic tire inflation system for trailers.

With the launch of Tiremaax CP, the original Tiremaax name becomes Tiremaax EC (Electronic Control). Tiremaax CP features a simple mechanical design, while Tiremaax EC provides full-system programming and monitoring, according to Hendrickson. The Tiremaax systems are designed to draw from the trailer air supply to help keep trailer tires properly inflated and rolling smoothly.

Tiremaax CP is designed to continually check tire pressure without pressurizing the axle or wheel ends, employing a pneumatic controller to direct air to tires that fall below a preset pressure level; a signal light illuminates only when attention is required to alert the operator of tire or system leaks. With robust components and no electronics, transducers or pressure switches, Tiremaax CP is easy to maintain, the company says; the CP requires no special tools to adjust tire pressure settings, and it operates on either 12- or 24-volt electrical systems.

Hendrickson says all Tiremaax units feature premium, high-performance components, including bolt-in, ball-bearing rotary unions; rugged, braided stainless-steel axle hoses; axle ventilation systems with patented axle filters; and seals specially designed to handle extreme temperature ranges. Braided stainless-steel tire hoses, heavy-duty tee fittings and steel tee-fitting guards help add durability; and to help prevent wheel-end contamination, Tiremaax uses internal supply lines without pressurizing the axle.

Both Tiremaax CP and EC may be combined with an array of Hendrickson-approved wheel-end configurations on any Hendrickson Intraax primary suspension system or Vantraax slider suspension system. For more information, go to www.hendrickson-intl.com.
