West Brother’s Companies — a Raleigh, N.C.-based provider of transportation, logistics and leasing in the Southeast — recently announced that it has been honored with three safety awards from Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. for their achievements in 2006:

  • West Logistics Inc.: Gold award for Outstanding Performance in the achievement of No Lost Time Claims;
  • Logistic Leasing LLC: Gold award for Outstanding Performance in the achievement of No Lost Time Claims; and
  • West Brother’s Transportation Services Inc.: Silver award for Exceptional Safety Performance in the achievement of a lost workday cases rate 78 percent lower than industry average.
  • These awards come on the heels of similar recognition in August. In the North Carolina Trucking Association’s safety management program, West Brother’s Companies received a total of five awards spread across three companies, ranging from vehicle safety to industrial safety.

    “Winning both Liberty Mutual and NCTA’s awards prove that we’re committed to ‘walking the walk’ and not just ‘talking the talk’ when it comes to safety programs,” says Craig West, chief executive officer. “In the long run, it pays to be safe. It’s a smarter business move to work with a fleet that’s well maintained and drivers who take safety seriously.”
