UniGroup Inc., the parent company of Mayflower Transit, recently launched Zero Hour Expedited Services, a specialized service for high-value and special commodity shipments requiring accelerated transportation. Also, Brian Iles has been named vice president of international relocations for UniGroup’s Worldwide UTS division.

Zero Hour can handle time-specific deliveries for trade shows, just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing shipments and critical shipments that require extra care, the company says; the logistics team utilizes the right equipment for each customer’s unique needs, including inside pickup and delivery. Through 24-hour customer service, Zero Hour Expedited Services customers have immediate access to information and service. More information about Zero Hour can be found by calling 866-660-9376 or going to www.zerohourexpedited.com.

“We are pleased to offer this specialized service to our current customers and potential customers who have shipments that need expedited service,” says Pat Larch, president of St. Louis-based Mayflower Transit. “This is just one more way the UniGroup companies continue to prove they are truly a one-stop shop for all transportation, relocation and logistics services. In fact, we began booking business on the second day of operation.”

Iles most recently served as managing director of international operations for UniGroup Worldwide UTS. In his new position, Iles is responsible for the profit and loss, as well as day-to-day activities, of UniGroup Worldwide UTS’ international relocations department and the company’s non-vessel owning common carrier (NVOCC).

With UniGroup Worldwide’s acquisition of 10 locations in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand earlier this year, Iles will be able to put his 25-plus years of experience in the international transportation industry to good use in his expanded role within the UniGroup organization, the company says.
