McLeod Software announced today, Oct. 16, that it will partner with Interstate Distributor Co., one of the largest privately owned truckload carriers in the United States. The partnership will be a multiphase initiative that will replace IDC’s current operating system with McLeod’s LoadMaster enterprise management and Document Imaging system.

The two organizations will implement McLeod’s technology that will include several new modules such as Container Module for Truckload and the LoadMaster Symphony Mobile Communication interface. The new modules will be hosted on an IBM System i (AS400) platform. The LoadMaster and Document Imaging systems will interface with IDC’s existing fuel optimization, cost analysis and maintenance management software, as well as its current mobile communication systems.

“These products, and especially the LoadMaster system’s Graphical User Interface design, will provide gains in our daily workflow productivity as well as reduce the training curve for new employees,” says Travis George, director of information technology at Tacoma, Wash.-based IDC. “The fact that McLeod’s systems were able to easily integrate with our existing packages was a huge deciding factor for us.”

“We are pleased to count Interstate as a customer and look forward to meeting their growing needs for many years to come,” says Rick Halbrooks, vice president of sales and marketing for Birmingham, Ala.-based McLeod Software.
