The Utah Department of Transportation has notified Utah carriers concerning weather restrictions for triple trailers, according to the Utah Trucking Association. Utah is experiencing severe winter conditions and storms, and triple trailers are restricted when there are snowstorms, wind conditions and severe rainstorms.

For many years, triple-trailer carriers have joined together as a voluntary group called the “Winter Weather Watch” to comply with the law. But recently, according to UTA, some triple-trailer users have not been keeping their trucks out during storms.

UTA urges the state’s triple-trailer carriers to train dispatchers and managers to avoid further state warnings and restrictions.
