Apex Capital, a full-service factor for the trucking industry, recently unveiled a fuel card that it says offers savings to clients of up to 40 cents or more per gallon on fuel.

Apex says that by taking advantage of its discounts with Pilot, Travel Centers of America, Petro, Wilco Hess, Ambest and Roady’s (a network of 350 independent stops) every time they fuel, a client with just one truck can save in excess of $20 per fillup, or $5,000 over the course of a year. Apex Capital says it passes on to its clients the entire amount of all fuel discounts, which are available for all trucking companies, regardless of size or volume.

The Apex fuel discount and management program was launched in mid-January when Apex Capital partnered with EFS Transportation Services to provide a program designed for Apex clients. In addition to discounted fuel, clients using an Apex Fuel Card — accepted at 5,100 locations nationwide, including Flying J — receive one easy-to-read daily report detailing where its drivers were, what they bought and how well their vehicles performed.

“It’s rewarding and gratifying to help the small-to-midsize carrier obtain the same benefits as the big guys,” says David Baker, president of Fort Worth, Texas-based Apex Capital. “Our intent is to continue looking for opportunities or ways to give our clients that competitive edge to succeed.”
