For nearly a decade, StarTrak has been a TransCore GlobalWave value-added reseller and has integrated the GlobalWave satellite modem into its refrigerated carrier product known as ReeferTrak. To expand market accessibility and leverage TransCore’s channels to market, TransCore will add StarTrak’s ReeferTrak RT-6000 to the portfolio of satellite communication products it offers to North American carriers.
Customers will access the full ReeferTrak service directly through StarTrak’s wireless network. “This is a strong addition to TransCore’s portfolio of asset management products and services designed for the transportation industry, including RFID, satellite trailer tracking and in-cab telematics,” says David Sward, TransCore’s GlobalWave general manager.
StarTrak says its new RT-6000 product provides state-of-the-art refrigeration management features for trailers, trucks, railcars and containers, including reefer status, temperature compliance, remote control, tractor identification and precision fuel information. Communications are powered by TransCore’s GlobalWave satellite communications network and feature TransCore’s core modem designed to provide fast response, onboard GPS location data and reliable, secure communications throughout North and Central America.
