Peterbilt Motors Co. on Thursday, Aug. 21, launched a new Green Technologies website to compliment the first customer delivery of its medium-duty hybrid vehicles and their full availability for customer order. The company, making the announcement at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, says the new website has an environmentally friendly appearance and promotes its advanced technologies that provide gains in fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

Peterbilt vehicles featured on the new Green Technologies website include the Model 330 and Model 335 hybrid electric vehicles and the Model 320 Hydraulic Launch Assist (HLA), as well as the Model 386 Class 8 longhaul hybrid electric development platform. Additionally, the section highlights the Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay-certified aerodynamic Models 386 and 387 and the ComfortClass no-idle system.

“Peterbilt is at the forefront of developing hybrid technologies that reduce emissions and increase fuel economy,” says Bill Jackson, general manager of the Denton, Texas-based company and Paccar vice president. “Our new Green Technologies website spotlights Peterbilt’s technological advances which allow customers to reduce their carbon footprint while increasing their overall fuel efficiency.”

The company says other Green Technologies sections include:

  • Peterbilt’s ecoNavigator, which keeps users up to date on where the medium-duty Model 330 and 335 hybrids are being displayed in conjunction with the Peterbilt Medium Duty Hybrid National Demonstration Program;
  • The Peterbilt ecoOpportunity section, which provides users information on how to utilize state and federal incentives to offset their cost of adopting Peterbilt hybrid technologies; and
  • Peterbilt sustainability efforts, such as its commitment to becoming a ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ company and the strides it is making to reduce its carbon footprint.
