TransCore announced the introduction of CabLink, a 100 percent satellite mobile terminal with next-generation technology for small to mid-sized carriers and private fleets that need economical options for in-cab communications and sensor-enabled tracking and monitoring of mobile assets.
Transcore says CabLink showcases a new streamlined design from the previous Text & Track product, integrates multiple components into one smaller unit, expands onboard processing capabilities and increases engine monitoring functionality. By deploying telematics devices, fleets can monitor performance remotely, setting prescribed usage parameters so alarms are triggered if a vehicle deviates.
“For small fleets struggling to absorb the financial impact of the fuel increase, there’s never been a more crucial time to deploy systems that are less capital-intensive and can have an immediate return on investment,” says David Sward, GlobalWave general manager for Portland, Ore.-based TransCore. “With fuel costs what they are, the ROI has practically doubled, cutting pay back time almost in half, or with low-cost lease-to-own programs, the ROI can be virtually immediate.”
CabLink is designed to provides a higher level of automated features and integration, simplifying usage and installation. Features and benefits, according to the company, include location tracking, engine diagnostics, enhanced in-cab driver/dispatcher communications, reduced out-of-route miles, advanced geofencing with automated arrival and departure notification, custom configurations with stop/start notification to save on airtime, easy installation and seamless software integration with major dispatch software programs.
