The U.S. Transportation Security Administration has issued a reminder to workers who require unescorted access to secure areas of maritime facilities and vessels, as well as all U.S. credentialed mariners, that the nationwide Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) compliance date was Wednesday, April 15.

TSA says any applicant that has received notification that his TWIC card is ready for pickup can walk in to the nearest enrollment center or schedule an appointment for activation by calling the TWIC help desk at 866-DHS-TWIC (866-347-8942). TSA says that more than a million applicants have enrolled for a TWIC card and that nearly 900,000 cards have been issued.
