Xata Corp., a provider of fleet operations optimization, announced it has signed a partner services agreement with Digi International. Under this pact, Digi will supply select on-truck hardware to support Xata’s next-generation onboard communications technology.

“Digi International has an outstanding reputation for reliable hardware products that enable wireless machine-to-machine connectivity,” says Tom Flies, senior vice president of product management at Minneapolis-based Xata. “This partnership leverages Digi’s strength, allowing Xata to focus more specifically on fleet performance and optimization software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications for the trucking industry.”

Under the agreement, which is effective immediately, Digi International will deliver iDigi, a range of its cellular and satellite communications products and services, to meet Xata’s technology and connectivity needs for the for-hire and private fleet trucking marketplaces. The companies say this relationship is expected to expand over time, as Xata enhances its portfolio of communications, navigation and fleet performance software applications and Digi enables Xata’s increased in-cab computing capacity.

“Xata is able to leverage Digi’s evolving wireless hardware and device management infrastructure to remain in front of the market and offer significant value when combined with Xata’s applications and services,” says Larry Kraft, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Digi International. “As a recognized leader in wireless device networking products, we provide Xata with high-quality hardware solutions that ensure the ongoing success of its customers.”
