McLeod Software announced the completion of its fiscal year with a new record for sales growth. The company’s 2010 fiscal year shows a 56 percent sales increase over 2009.

“We continue to see extremely strong growth in investment in information technology from our customers in the transportation industry” says Tom McLeod, President and CEO of McLeod Software. “2010 was a much better year overall for freight transportation, and our customers have invested in information technology solutions because of the very high rate of return for those investments. Well managed companies are continuing to improve their operations with better systems.”

Tom McLeod explained the nature of the company’s growth by saying that strong growth came from both existing customers who are expanding/upgrading their IT systems capabilities, and new customers who are implementing off-the-shelf solutions for trucking dispatch management, brokerage, business process automation, document management and imaging, and freight management.

“We believe this trend reflects the terrific return on investment our customers are receiving. Several of our customers have told us that the savings and efficiencies they gained in the last two years with their new information systems capabilities made the difference between operating with a profit instead of a loss in their fiscal year. And we consistently find customers who have been able to recoup their capital investments in very short time frames. We have many of reports from customers who saw a greater than 100 percent internal rate of return in the first year for their IT projects.”
