Blue Tree Systems – a provider of fleet management, reefer monitoring and trailer tracking solutions – announced it has established Blue Tree Systems Inc. to support its growing network of partners, resellers and users of its next-generation fleet management system in the United States. Blue Tree Systems Inc. will provide sales and aftermarket support to the U.S. partner and reseller network and also will manage a direct relationship with national and strategic accounts.

Blue Tree says capabilities of the R:COM Fleet Management Solution, which can be selected to meet a variety of operational requirements, include vehicle tracking, in-cab communication and navigation, fuel monitoring, engine and driver performance monitoring, reefer temperature management, automated IFTA fuel tax reporting and driver hours-of-service management. Blue Tree says that with R:COM, fleets can manage assets effectively in real-time using the R:COM Reports engine.
R:COM’s onboard communications and driver interface hardware provides an advanced electronic hours-of-service functionality, including a user-friendly touchscreen requiring minimal training, combined with extensive features designed to benefit drivers. The functionality is designed to enable the driver to manage their hours easily, edit nondriving log entries, review and sign their logs, and perform pre-and-post trip inspections. In addition, Blue Tree Systems has focused the development of their R:COM solution to simplify compliance with Compliance Safety Accountability regulations.
Blue Tree says the vehicle tracking capability in the R:COM solution displays the current location of any vehicle (or group of vehicles) using the latest digital map technology and provides a detailed tracking history that can include trip, stop and time at location reports. R:COM also has the ability to name and geo-fence thousands of locations quickly and easily.
Another key capability of the R:COM Fleet Management solution for North American trucking companies is its Reefer Management solution. Designed for refrigerated carriers, the system provides live updates of refrigeration unit settings, operating mode, equipment alarm codes, fuel level and cargo temperatures, and reports temperature out-of-range conditions and refrigeration unit shut-down alarms immediately via e-mail or SMS. R:COM also records detailed temperature data, refrigeration unit settings and operating mode, door events, and arrival and departure times. The system is designed to connect directly to all Thermo King and Carrier refrigeration unit controllers and download data automatically or on demand.
