Saia names Staver director of safety, claims prevention

Saia Inc. announced Karla Staver as the company’s new director of safety and claims prevention, responsible for leading and overseeing Saia’s safety department, all regional safety and claims prevention managers, as well as the quality and return-to-work managers.

Responsibilities include ensuring all drivers meet company and U.S. Department of Transportation policies and procedures, overseeing safety and claims prevention training, compliance with all government regulations, and the reduction and prevention of claims including the continuous improvement of Saia’s new Exception-free Delivery Customer Service Indicator.

A 10-year industry veteran, Staver previously worked as Saia’s regional human resource manager for both the company’s Atlanta and Charlotte regions. She also served as one of company’s safety administrative supervisors and as a regional safety manager.
