Ideal Clamp Products, a designer and manufacturer of gear, hose and specialty clamps, announced that Ideal and Classic Brand standard-duty no-hub couplings in sizes 1½ inch through 10 inches are now NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certified under listing number C0056103.
“What this certification does is verify compliance to CISPI 310 by an independent third party,” says Mark Cramer, global director of aftermarket sales and marketing. “It is important that a coupling manufacturer build product to this standard because it ensures the product’s durability and functionality as part of the overall DWV system.”
Selected to be the third-party inspector, NSF recently approved the new coupling inspection program in accordance with the current edition of CISPI 310 standards. “The new program includes independent, periodic review and verification of functional tests, including deflection, shear and unrestrained hydrostatic testing,” says Bruce Bowater, director of engineering at Ideal. “It also includes dimensional inspections and review of material test reports and certifications for steel and gaskets that comprise the couplings.”
All certified Ideal and Classic Brand no-hub couplings feature the blue NSF logo. “This helps the onsite engineers, contractors and inspectors easily identify compliant couplings that verify manufacturing to standards necessary to perform over the long-term,” says Cramer.
