A clean truck consortium is launching what it describes as a counter-offensive to help fleets fight high fuel prices. At the 11th annual Hybrid Truck Users Forum National Conference Oct. 10-13 at the Baltimore Convention Center, a sweepstakes will offer to help 25 qualifying fleet professionals to attend HTUF free of charge.

All attendees will be privy to data and findings on efficient trucks they can use to fight high fuel prices today, and can look at current medium- and heavy-duty electric and hybrid vehicles, hear about the latest state and federal funding initiatives for advanced fuel vehicles and learn how to reduce petroleum consumption.

This year’s HTUF focuses on expanding commercial and military fleet knowledge about clean fuel-saving trucks and buses. To enter the sweepstakes, qualified fleet managers can go to htuf2011.org and click on “Win Free Fleet Registrations.” To qualify, entrants must be a principal owner, co-owner or operator with direct purchase responsibility for a fleet of 10 or more vehicles. No purchase or conference registration is necessary. Previously registered winners will be reimbursed. Winners will be notified via e-mail no later than Aug. 24.

Annually, the HTUF conference draws hundreds of attendees representing fleets, truck and bus makers, technology leaders and military and government officials. HTUF was founded by Calstart and the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center’s National Automotive Center and is operated by Calstart under contract to the U.S. Army.
