Mahle Clevite kicks off Champion Technician contest

Mahle Clevite Inc. announced the Mahle Clevite Champion Technician contest designed to honor the skills and experience of engine technicians and specialists nationwide. Through a short essay submission, a winner will be determined and receive a VIP trip to the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week in Las Vegas, Nev.

“Mahle Clevite wanted to salute the hard work and dedication of the thousands of engine technicians around the country,” says Ted Hughes, manager of marketing for Mahle Clevite. “The Champion Technician contest is just one of many ways we want to roll out the red carpet for those who support us day in and day out.”

Participants are requested to complete a short application and submit a maximum of a 250-word essay about an engine technician or specialist who demonstrates passion, talent and a forward-thinking mindset that exemplifies a “champion” in every aspect. Applications may be obtained online at mahleclevite.com/championtechnician and submitted via fax at 734-975-7820 or e-mail to [email protected] until 11:59 p.m. ET on Oct. 15.

The winner will receive a trip to Las Vegas Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, including coach airfare for two, a three-night hotel stay with a special gift basket, a special meet-and-greet with a NASCAR personality, joining the Mahle Clevite Engine Builder of the Year for a Mahle Clevite VIP dinner, two tickets to NASCAR Victory Lap and NASCAR After The Lap, as well as tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Ceremony, a feature on Mahle’s Website and social networking sites, and a commemorative plaque. The prize package is valued at about $3,750.
