The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has asked the Office of Management and Budget permission to revise and extend an existing Information Collection Request entitled “Hours of Service (HOS) of Drivers Regulations.” FMCSA, effective June 4, 2010, authorized the use of electronic onboard recorders to keep driver record-of-duty status.

FMCSA’s ICR seeks to estimate the Paperwork Reduction Act burden of motor carriers voluntarily directing their drivers to employ EOBRs. On June 6, FMCSA published a Federal Register notice allowing for a 60-day comment period on the ICR (76 FR 32388). One comment was received.
