Valvoline released two more innovations to its new UltraMax product line on Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas. Valvoline debuted the UltraMax line with the release of a new hydraulic oil in March and since has added to it. Its two newest offerings are a fully synthetic 10W-40 motor oil and a diesel fuel injector cleaner.

The new 10W-40 engine oil is formulated to meet all U.S. and European standards and to provide maximum protection against engine wear, deposit formation, corrosion, foaming and oxidation. The oil is suited for trucks, city buses, off-road machines and specialty vehicles.

“The oil is unique in that it exceeds U.S. requirements for engines like Mack and Cummins, but also the European OE specifications for OEs like Volvo and Mercedes,” said Peter Thomson, director of C&I marketing for Valvoline.

Valvoline also introduced a fuel injector cleaner that Thomson said can improve fuel economy by nearly eight percent when introduced into a fuel system.

The cleaner can be used in two ways: one 32-ounce bottle treats up to a 125-gallon tank, and five gallons can be added in bulk to treat 10,000 gallons of diesel.

The cleaner is formulated to remove deposits from inside a fuel injector unit and prevent deposits from forming in B10 bio-based fuel.
