Xata Corp., a provider of fleet optimization software, announced that three additional Intermec devices now are available for use with Xata Turnpike. The three devices, which feature the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and a variety of productivity-enhancing tools, are designed to make it easier for fleets to reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.

“The addition of these new Intermec devices demonstrates our commitment to offering the most device-friendly fleet management solutions on the market,” says Charles Mohn, director of product management for Xata. “These Intermec devices make it easy for fleets and drivers to adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Compliance Safety Accountability program, which is designed to reduce commercial motor vehicle accidents. They will also run one of a number of POD systems in tandem with Xata Turnpike.”

• Intermec CN70. Lightweight and small, it features a brilliant display and advanced barcode imaging technology, and is fully compatible with printers; and
• Intermec CN4. It features 3.5G wireless technology, which enables added visibility into drivers’ routes. It also features enhanced mobile document imaging.

“Bringing our award-winning solutions to these leading-edge Intermec devices enables us to better meet the diverse needs of our growing list of customers,” says Mohn. “Whatever their on-the-road mobility needs, Xata Turnpike runs on a mobile device that can help provide better value and functionality.”
