The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company will exhibit at the American Public Transportation Association Expo 2011, which will be held Oct. 3-5 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Goodyear will display its Metro Miler line of transit tires at its booth (No. 861). These tires come in a variety of sizes and contain a wide range of features, including:
• Sidewall protector ribs that help resist sidewall scuffing from turning, backing and braking;
• Reinforced shoulders and steel sidewalls to help deliver long casing life; and
• Scrub-resistant tread with a multicompound construction designed to help extend tread life when used in local applications that involve wear from turning, backing and braking.

In addition, Goodyear executives, including region managers, will be present at the show to visit with transit professionals and discuss the company’s Mileage Program, which encompasses transit tires and related services.

“Our Mileage Program is designed to help transit authorities in managing their costs, while providing the right tires for their vehicles and recommending appropriate maintenance practices,” says Mike Cairns, general manager, Mileage Sales, Lease & Service, Goodyear. “Proper fitments and maintenance can help transit authorities lower their cost of operation.”
