NASSTRAC, an industry association that provides education, advocacy and provider relations to transportation and supply chain professionals involved in all modes of transportation, announced that Dave Malenfant, vice president of global supply chain for Alcon Laboratories, has joined the NASSTRAC executive committee.

Malenfant, with more than 30 years in the transportation industry in multiple global supply chain roles, brings proven leadership capabilities to the NASSTRAC executive committee, which is primarily responsible for setting the strategic direction of the 59-year-old industry shipper association. Malenfant joins the leadership team comprised primarily of transportation and supply chain executives from a wide variety of leading manufacturers and retailers.

“The industry leadership Dave Malenfant brings to the NASSTRAC executive team will increase our ability to educate and represent our members and the industry on the difficult issues facing the transportation industry,” says Brian Everett, NASSTRAC executive director. “In addition, his counsel will ensure we provide a venue where shippers and providers can build productive relationships.”

In his role at Alcon, Malenfant is responsible for strategic direction for global supply chain initiatives. He is past chair of the Supply Chain Council and currently serving as an advisory board member for Texas Christian University’s Supply and Value Chain Center.
