Tramec announced a joint venture with Heavy Duty Suspension Suppliers Corp. Grupo Suspension in Mexico. The joint venture, which is named Tramec HDSS, headquartered in Grapevine, Texas, is a standalone business and a subsidiary of Tramec, located in Iola, Kan. Tramec HDSS says it will provide a full line of heavy-duty suspension components, which will be warehoused and distributed out of the Grapevine facility to the commercial vehicle market in the United States and Canada.

“This joint venture provides the addition of suspension components to Tramec’s existing air, electrical, brake and fastener product lines,” says Gary Sullo, chairman of Tramec HDSS. “Existing and new customers will have an enhanced and expanded product line backed by Tramec’s nearly 40 years of industry experience, ingenuity and expertise.”

HDSS is comprised of four ISO-9001 certified suspension component manufacturers located in Mexico: JM Tor Par S.A. de C.V. – hot forged suspension nuts and bolts; Pratsa S.A. de C.V. – u-bolts and spring center bolts; Partes Para Bombas S.A. de C.V. – polyurethane and rubber suspension products; and Partes Herramientas y Maquinados S.A. de C.V. – cast and machined suspension components.

“The HDSS team is very positive about the joint venture with Tramec,” says Jose Janeiro, HDSS vice president. “The formation of this strengthened portfolio creates a dynamic synergy between the companies. We are excited about the energy it brings to our organizations and the resulting benefits for customers and suppliers.”

Tramec services the heavy-duty tractor and trailer OEM and aftermarket businesses, as well as the industrial market. The company’s line of highly engineered products includes cold-formed lock nuts and specialty bolts, automatic brake adjusters, air brake and electrical components, assemblies and related accessories.

“Tramec’s ongoing commitment to exceptional design and highly engineered and manufactured components is further demonstrated by the addition of these new HDSS products which are competitively priced and of superior quality” says Mark Holm, Tramec’s vice president of sales.
