Drivers who sign on by May 1 will receive a $5,000 bonus as part of Shuttle Fleet’s launch, Atlas Van Lines announced as part of a plan to fill more than 100 driving jobs by June.
Through a new DriveAtlas initiative, the moving goods company also is offering a lease-to-purchase tractor program for new owner-operators and contractors planning to upgrade their equipment. The program includes 2006-2007 tractors with a mileage ranging from 450,000 to 550,000 miles and financing through Daimler.
Shuttle Fleet drivers are responsible for drop-and-hook trailer delivery service and are paid by the mile. Drivers receive an average of $1.52 per mile, which includes fuel surcharge and payment on loaded and empty miles.
The Commercial Truckload Division’s no-touch freight drivers also are eligible for a $5,000 bonus, which will be paid in installments throughout the first year of employment. Drivers in this division receive an average of $1.64 per mile.
