Aljex Software – a provider of Internet-hosted operating software for brokers, carriers and third-party logistics providers – on Friday, July 6, announced it is offering free accounts to carriers and brokers willing to serve as beta testers for software improvements.

The company is looking for a few companies that will be provided with Aljex accounts and can use Aljex transportation management software to run their operations free of charge. Aljex will backup and host their data files as well as provide support.

Tom Heine, Aljex, chief executive officer, said free beta testers will be the first to use new features that Aljex is developing, many of which are designed to offer increased efficiency and/or a competitive advantage. Beta test feedback also gives the beta testers a role in how the features are rolled out and utilized, Heine said.

The downside, Heine said, is that free beta testers at one time or another will experience the hiccups that make beta testing necessary before an upgrade can be made available to all Aljex users. “Beta accounts will be working from a separate server,” he said. “After the system goes through beta testing, we push it out to our production servers.”

Heine said the testing program is open to brokers, carriers and intermodal companies with offices of from five to 10 people. Anyone interested should contact the Aljex sales team at 732-357-8700.
