Meritor Inc.’s Aftermarket business now offers heavy-duty truck and trailer oil-bath wheel seals as part of its wheel-end parts offerings. The new wheel seals – available in a standard and a premium version – are designed with a wide-seal band, a multizone labyrinth design, low-friction bumpers and a 0.07-inch-thick steel casing that helps prevent installation damage.
The standard model is manufactured from nitrile rubber, while the premium model uses hydrogenated nitrile rubber and is designed to be compatible with all lubricants, including synthetics. The product can be installed by hand or by using an installation tool.
