Sandy: Agency extends emergency period to Nov. 27

The hours of service rule exemption for trucks and drivers carrying relief supplies to areas affected by Hurricane Sandy has been extended to Nov. 27, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced Wednesday.

The exemption applies only to those drivers carrying goods that will provide direct assistance to storm-battered states.
